About the show

Dad, How Does It Work? is a science podcast for curious kids ages 5–10, made to be shared with the grown-ups in their lives. Every episode starts with one question kids wonder about, like why the sky is blue, how planes fly or how a cut heals, and answers it step by step.

How an episode works

Two adult hosts talk it through. One asks the curious questions a listener might have, the other explains, using everyday comparisons kids can picture: bowling balls and ping-pong balls for light, a lemonade stand for paying by card, a cleanup crew for healing skin. Most episodes run 5 to 10 minutes.

What we cover

Space and the sky, nature and animals, the human body, everyday technology and how money works. New episodes come out regularly, and short video explainers go up every Thursday on YouTube (opens in a new tab) and Instagram (opens in a new tab).

For parents and teachers

Episodes are clean and family-friendly. Many episode pages include a full transcript and three "talk about it" questions you can use in the car, at dinner or in class.
